Alrighty... it's been way too long...
What has happened since the last post? Lots! Some good, some not so great (though good in the long run)...
The Good:
Duathlon!
Lar could update with full timing results, but the official finishing order for the 2013 SPHDuathlon is as follows:
1) Jaqueb
2) Big Red
3) Asian Express
4) Blackbeard
The race was held on a great day. Beautiful weather. Great trail conditions.
The first bike leg separated the lead dog with Jake dominating (as expected). Isaac spun his singlespeed around the first lap into second place, but only seconds ahead of Larry and only a few seconds more ahead of Job. A slow transition, a medium transition, and a stupid fast transition had Larry, Isaac, and Job separated by only a few seconds.
Larry put on an exhibition (ignoring the fact that Jake was flying way ahead of the rest) and had a few minutes into the final leg. Job and Isaac were yo-yoing and a fast transition gave Job a decent lead heading out onto the bikes. It was nip and tuck but Isaac couldn't quite catch up. The transitions were truly critical in getting Job on the podium!
The not so good:
We're looking for a new title sponsor! Wheelhouse Cycles has closed its doors for the last time. Hopefully it leads to more opportunity for Job to be with family, AND to get out and ride!
Which leads me to:
